SoCal or Bust Part 6: The Finish Line

Car Culture, Events, Stories

Day 5 started early. We had gotten a good night’s sleep and woken to the sounds of splashing water. Yep, the pool would be where we spent this day. Now, when a bunch of sunburned car nerds (in an appropriately grown-up manner, of course) test theĀ  effects of grain alcohol, stories will result. Some of those stories cannot be shared on the Internet. Let’s move on to Day 6.

AAHHH! A tiger is driving my car!

Day 6 started early again. 6:00am saw us on the road and flying towards home. The goal for the day was Redding, and we were hell-bound and determined to make better time than that. Not a whole lot of action on the day but some good pictures.

In Redding, we decided to just punch it. Temecula to Tacoma in one day. Oregon was a blur of sleepy eyes and tired driving, and Washington didn’t seem to exist until I made it home safe and sound… where I snuggled into my bed with a giant stuffed tiger, my dog, and most importantly my wife.

Never again will I drive for 21 hours straight. ‘Nuff said.

All in all, our run to Toyotafest 2009 was a great trip. I hope you’ve enjoyed the stories and pictures… feel free to share your comments!

What a Exciting Trip that was, Glad to see it Summarized on the blog brings back great memories. And is a great reminder that I never want to travel 1200+ miles in one day.
