They were lined up around the block most of the morning. Hot rods, customs, and classics of every flavor descended on the Griot’s Garage shop this morning for a poker run hosted by the King’s Men Car Club. Enjoy the photos, and be sure to check out the Goodguys show this weekend to see these (and tons of other) awesome rides.
It’s tough for me to pick just one favorite… I was basically running around the parking lot like a little kid all morning snapping photos. Ooh, ooh… look what’s pulling in now! But if I could put just one of these in my garage, it would be the orange ‘32 Essex. The thing sounded great. Of course, it’d be getting about a 4″ haircut as soon as possible, but that’s just me.
How ’bout you? Out of this bunch, what would you put in your garage?

A big thank you to all the Kingsmen Car Club for making Griot’s Garage a stop on their poker run. It was great to see how many people were new to Griot’s Garage, and didn’t know we had a store and free car care school to play around with their favorite rides.

Being at Griot’s Garage today was like attending the Good Guys event. The quality and quantity of cars that rolled through the parking lot was wonderful. My favorite? Too many to choose from.

Actually, the T-Bird was my favorite. Just ‘cuz I have fond memories of my Dad’s ‘63 T-Bird; red with a white vinyl roof, white leather interior. I was 14 and thought it was awesome.
One hot summer weekend we were coming back from the Blue Mountains in Oregon with friends. My Dad was tired, pulled over and said I could drive. His last words before he went to sleep were, “just keep up with Joanne”. So…like any kid would, I did what my Dad told me to do! Well, Joanne had a ‘63 turquoise T-Bird that was almost as cool as my Dad’s and she was not shy about putting her foot into the gas pedal. I’ll never forget following her over Horse Heaven with all the roller coaster hills, curves and wide open spaces. Thank goodness the only other people on the road were farmers on tractors. How crazy was that!

I LOVED the ‘48 Ford pickup. The wooden bed was amazing. It was easily in the top 3 cars of the day.

I also really liked the ‘48 Ford Pickup with the wooden bed. That was an amazing color combo with the blue.

Looks like I picked the wrong day to take off of work. Thanks for snapping the great shots Mike! That ‘48 Ford Pickup is my favorite, but the ‘32 Essex is a close second (you are right, a couple inches off the top would be perfect).
And Mike, cool it on the milk truck jokes. They are getting a bit sour.

I would have to say that the 48′ Ford Pickup was my fave too… That and the milk truck… All the cars were amazing. I love seeing the parking lot full of classics like that!
