Though a fan of pretty much anything with four wheels and a motor, Derek Wescott is a confirmed BMW fanatic. You will soon learn this (if you haven’t already) by taking note of his personal stories and propensity for calling cars by their platform name. Derek drives a beautiful E30 (see, platform name!), an Alpine White II 1989 BMW 325is, which has become a part of his family... a lot of work, a pain at times, but always loved. He recently expanded his BMW stable with a 2004 325i Touring, which he calls, "the perfect family car." Since starting with Griot's Garage in 2005, Derek's knowledge of and passion for cars, garages, and automotive culture has grown exponentially. When he hits the big time, Derek is going to put an E30 M3, 993 Porsche Turbo, and a Fiat 500 Abarth SS in his garage.

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

We’ve spotted this Mystery Machine replica passing the IMG Global Headquarters on more than one occasion. Each time, a “Zoinks!” is yelled down the hallway as everyone reaches for their phone to snap a picture. Where does this car-toon replica rate on your scale of automobile awesomeness?

Monday, April 9, 2012

We experience a healthy amount of rainy weather here in the Pacific Northwest (okay, probably an unhealthy amount of rainy weather). First Look: LeMay – America’s Car Museum

Friday, December 9, 2011

Words can’t describe how impressive America’s Car Museum is… even calling it a museum doesn’t feel right. Something about that word suggests a place where you silently walk around looking at static displays. What the folks at LeMay have done is different; and not just because cars are the subject matter.

We sometimes take them for granted, but you can learn a lot about a car by looking at its tires. Whether it’s for myself, friends, or family, I help inspect and maintain quite a few well-loved cars. One thing that never surprises me is how much I can evaluate (and in many cases easily repair) […]

The Secret to a Great Garage: Start With The Floor!

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

You may have heard us say it now and then at Griot’s… Every great garage starts with the floor. My dad has been working piece-by-piece to transform his garage into a great one. So, with sheet rock hung and walls painted, it was time to attack the 35 year-old slab of tired looking, oil-stained concrete. […]

Big or small, high or low… any car will benefit from giving the undercarriage some attention. Here’s how.

Star Cars: The Ralph Lauren Car Collection

Monday, July 11, 2011

At one time or another, most of us have debated with friends how, if money was no issue, we’d fill our dream garages. For most, these answers rarely go beyond  that afternoon discussion. While I’m still a huge fan of our original Wheel Cleaner, new Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner has taken top-shelf honors in my garage. Let me give you the […]
