‘Twas the Night Before Race Day

‘Twas the Night Before Race Day

With a tip of the crash helmet to Clement Clarke Moore… ‘Twas the night before race day, when all through the garage, not an engine was turning, not even my Dodge. The spanners where hung by the compressor with care, in hopes that “St. Horsepower” soon would be there.

Porsches 2 Oxford 2011: A Casual Porsche Party

Who would guess that Oxford, Ohio (home to Miami University and a bucolic downtown setting, complete with brick streets), might become the summer “must drive” destination for all cars Porsche? The Ohio-Florida Adventure

In the summer of 1941 my parents celebrated their honeymoon by driving a 1937 Buick from Dayton, Ohio to see friends in St. Petersburg, Florida. On the Lot: 1967 Camaro RS/SS

A great customer showed up today with his 1967 Camaro RS/SS, a numbers-matching car with a 350ci and Muncie M21 transmission. It was painted over six years ago but looks like they just finished wet sanding!

Date with a Rolls-Royce, Part 1: Life Before Photoshop

Just before I graduated from college I fell into the perfect job, as print advertising manager for the old Nationwise Auto Parts based in Columbus, Ohio. If you lived anywhere near I-75 from Ohio to Florida between 1965 and 1990 you must have visited one of our stores to change your oil, or buy a rebuilt alternator.

Scrappy little fella, aren’t ya?

Scrappy little fella, aren’t ya?

A walk through the local Mini dealer today revealed one customer’s attitude toward big blocks! To be fair, and with apologies to the continental owner of the marque, when did the UK ever produce a V8 worth it’s weight in tea???
