Porsche 944 Trailer: Crunk or Junk?

porsche-944-trailer_thumbnail

When is a car worth saving, and when is it just a pile (no pun intended) of metal? This is the question under constant debate at InMyGarage. Here’s the latest installment submitted for your consideration: Spotted at the Porsche Parade in Keystone, Colorado, it’s a Porsche 944 pulling a trailer built from… uhh, another 944.

We’re always impressed when something gets reused and recycled, but we’re not sure what to make of this “artistic interpretation”. Utilitarian, yes. Functional, sure! Easy on the eyes, umm… well… what do you think? Is this contraption crunk or junk?

  1. For what its worth, I’m going to take the lame way out and say both. Crunk because that probably took a lot of time and effort to build, not to mention needing a 944 to use in the build.

I will also say junk because its a trailer made out of a car. As if the pickup truck bed trailers were not bad enough, this takes it to a whole new level that, quite frankly, scares me!

  2. Jennifer says:

    I say… junk.
Personally, I do not care for the trailer. I also think that the truck bed trailer was bad. You can always take the Porsche and restore it. But ruining it by turning it into a trailer? I do not think it is the best idea in the world. But, hey kudos for the creativity! You do have to give the person credit for a Porsche pulling a Porsche, it could be much worse…

  3. It’s funny — for a brief moment. Then horrifying. Just horrifying and wrong. On many levels.

  4. The Beverly Hillbillys owned a Porsche? Who Knew?

  5. Just may fall under the category of ‘too much time on their hands.’

I hope the combination doesn’t qualify for cash for clunkers X 2

  6. Recycling at its finest. It is unique and it’s functional. No different than puttin’ a Chevy power plant in a 32 Ford. I like it.

  7. Crush. Horrible and probably unsafe.

Who would put a tow hitch on a car like that in the first place?

Why has no one asked THIS more appropriate question…

Why the hell is a Porsche 944 pulling a trailer (of any kind)??!?

    CRUNK!

  9. Crunk! Just the creativity itself is worth the benefit of the doubt…

  10. If I had to make a guess, I’d say that is an electric conversion porsche 944 in the front (I can’t see an exhaust on it), and the “trailer” is a fully functional 944 gas powered drivetrain. They are called pusher trailers, and are for pushing your limited range electric vehicle on long distance trips. This is totally cool, but does look goofy.

    • CA Caldererra says:

I think your right about the electric conversion and the gas powered pusher. Out of all the insite form the outside, you seem to be the most intelligent of this bunch of bs’ers. The single person that actually looks at the details that are in site as opposed to turning into a live comic strip like the rest.

Alazing is our general public. Hats off to you dude!

      • Just magnified the top picture by 200%, there is an Exhaust Pipe. Looks like genuine pipe too. just a little higher than I’d expect, but I’m in the UK so my rear bumper isn’t as Big.

  11. Junk….. I will credit the time and effort put into the transformation, but c’mon.

  12. Anthony M says:

I say crunk… You dont see this everyday. When my sc300 is old and broken i will atempt to do the same thing.

  13. In human form this would be a person dragging a corpse behind him.

A lot of things can be done, but that doesnt mean it should be done.

  14. Nice way to keep a car alive .
Hey it beats all the chopping up and parting these cars for scrap also gives the haters something to talk about. Nice way to re purpose.
