The deep and distinctive V8 roar of two dozen free revving Mustangs shook the trees and echoed through the neighborhood at our April Caffeine & Gasoline. Griot’s Garage was overrun with ponycars as we paid tribute to 50 years of the Mustang. The coordinated group fire-up sent owners scurrying to their cars to get in on the action.
The fire-up was a chain reaction that went on for five or six minutes, increasing in intensity as the seconds ticked away. We’d like to thank The Mustang Shop for bringing out some fine examples of ponycar perfection. The Auburn, WA tuning company exhibited a sweet ’67 GTA coupe, a ’66 Shelby GT350H Rent-A-Racer, and an AIX-spec racecar in our Auto Display.
The store was rockin’ with nostalgic Mustang-inspired products just for the birthday celebration, a raffle for free Griot’s goods, and discount pricing. Attendance was in the 450 range and we tore through 40 dozen donuts and 30 gallons of coffee.
Our May 3rd Caffeine & Gasoline will honor first responders so we will have some cool fire trucks, police and military vehicles, and rescue rigs on hand. As always, if you have a cool car, bring it! This is a motorhead gathering, so bring your car whether it’s stock, shock, or a project that’s somewhere in between… We want to see it.
Have fun in your garage!
