Sweet Swap: 240Z Meets 370Z

Fever Racing out of Tampa, Florida gets the kudos for this clean swap that drops a Nissan VQ37VHR out of a 370Z into its great-great grandfather and founder of the Zed car, the Datsun 240Z. The swap was pulled off by using a McKinney Motorsports VQ35 swap kit, and of course Fever had to inject some boost into the deal by bolting on twin Garrett GTX3071R turbochargers. The goal is to surpass 1,000 horsepower and 8,000 rpm.

The pressurized V6 is backed by a 370Z six-speed fitted with a Spec P-trim twin-plate clutch and the old timer has some fancy dance moves thanks to updated footwork. A set of Tein Flex Z adjustable coilovers are at the heart of the matter.

The shop also augmented the chassis with a S13-vintage Nissan 240SX independent rear suspension outfitted with trick titanium adjustable control arms. Stopping power has been addressed with AP Racing six-piston calipers and 14-inch rotors up front and a four-piston, 13-inch rotor setup out back.

We spotted this intriguing build on one of our favorite sites… engineswapdepot.com. Check it out.
