Car Culture, Cars, Events, Photos

I was born into the car guy lifestyle. Building and showing VW’s and a handful of random British cars was a big thing in my family. As much as I love looking at and working on cars, I enjoy driving them even more. So when I was asked by sponsor McKay Wealth Management if I’d like to document the annual Tour Du Jour, how could I say no?

The 2012 Tour Du Jour, which benefits America’s Car Museum and Seattle Children’s Hospital, is part of a weekend of activities surrounding the Kirkland Concours d’Elegance. Invites were sent out to local clubs, and they brought out some amazing vintage and modern sports cars for a 100 mile tour of some of the best country roads the Puget Sound has to offer.

The day started off at LeMay – America’s Car Museum and it was hard not to notice the large variety of cars that had gathered for the drive. From an early 1950′s MGTD, to cutting-edge automobiles like the Lexus LFA, it was a good mix of new and old. After a quick driver’s meeting, we were off for a great drive on some amazing roads throughout Kitsap County. The day culminated at McCormick Woods Golf Course for lunch and a chance to talk with other enthusiasts.

I spent most of the day looking through the lens, so I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy.
